I love hosting friends and family at our home, but it is always extra special hosting during the holiday season. Having my home filled with people I love just makes this time of the year feel extra warm and special. Today I want to share a few step-by-step instructions on how you can create a beautiful Christmas themed holiday tablescape with the Hillshire Social Platters: Genoa Salame & Calabrese Salame to entertain your loved ones. The most important part of hosting is just enjoying your company and letting them enjoy being with you. Then I think it is always fun to create an inviting space for your company to enjoy. While you are enjoying everyone’s company it is always nice to have food ready to be served. I am going to share more about all of these areas of hosting in the steps below.
Add The First Layer
There are several ways you can make a tablescape. You could choose a simple look, or a neutral look, etc. Today I am creating a multi-layered Christmas themed tablescape. I am sticking to the classic Christmas colors of red and green. So to start my tablescape I am laying down this antique white and green lace piece that I found at a local thrift store. You will find that I love using thrifted items and mixing them into my new pieces. Here I usually add some sort of greenery. In this case I am added a seasonal touch with live greenery. It looks so pretty, and it smells even better! I also added some simple bottle brush trees, and a red bead garland to add a pop of red.
Add Your Place Setting
Now that your table looks really pretty it is time to add your functional place setting. To create each place setting I started with a green plate. These plates are also thrift store finds and I love the color for this season. Layered on top I added these numerical napkins from a small shop. We needed bowls for our meal so I added these four ironstone bowls. For another festive touch I stacked these Target white houses onto the bowl. I still felt like I wanted another holiday touch so I added these Christmas word cutouts from a small shop. Some of them say, “oh holy night”, “Christmas”, “Gingerbread”, “Jingle Bells”, etc. I paired the place setting with these red jars to use as our cups. I love the festive pops of red!
Hillshire Social Platter
With every dinner party I have I always rely heavily on my appetizers. A simple appetizer helps me so much. I feel like my dinners always take longer to cook than I think it will, and I hate having my guests just starving and waiting around. I am so thankful and absolutely love the ease and convenience of the Hillshire Social Platters: Genoa Salame & Calabrese Salame. All you have to do is literally, “flip and serve”. I love that you can just keep it in its packaging tray and you don’t have to grab a serving tray. It is so easy and tastes so good! My guests always love these so they are a party must for me! I pick my Hillshire Social Platter up at Meijer when I am doing my grocery shopping. If you haven’t tried them before, or if you would like to get another one I have a coupon for you! Click here and you can get $2.50 off 1 product 11/17-12/31.
