Drop cloth curtains are my absolute favorite! We have lived in this house now for a little more than three months and I am so proud of myself for actually already having curtains up. It usually takes me at-least a year to even think about curtains. So grab a cup of coffee and prepare yourself to be amazed! No, seriously easiest diy ever! Anyone can make these, and they look so amazing. They can really be used for any home decor style. I personally love that they have farmhouse simplistic style.
Drop Cloth Curtain Supplies
These DIY drop cloth curtains all started when I was at Lowe’s getting supplies for my DIY Stenciled Kitchen and Dining Room I was in the paint isle and saw these drop cloths. So I grabbed one for about $10.00. Then at Lowe’s I grabbed the ring clips for around $4.00, and also the curtain rod for around $9.00.
The Process
Lay your drop cloth down and find the center point of your cloth. Then cut your cloth in half lengthwise.
These will be your two curtains.
Now fold the first curtain about 14′ down. This part is compelled customizable. I usually let a little extra fabric hang on the floor, but if you want your curtains to be higher than fold the cloth more. Once you have your fold line it is time to put the ring clips on. Try to space them out evenly based on how many clips you want per curtain. I personally do about five ring clips per curtain.
Then all you have to do is put them on your curtain rod.
I am so surprised by how much I love these DIY Drop Cloth Curtains. Curtains add so much to a room. I love how simple these ones are. This is our third house where I have added these Drop Cloth Curtains and I have loved them in each home. They are a fun a easy DIY that really updates your space on a budget. I currently have these in every room in our home and I can’t get enough of them.
If you end up making some of these diy drop cloth curtains I would love to see them! If you post them on Instagram use the hashtag #myhomechronicles so I can see them! Or you can just send me a picture!
