Moving is always such a process! Since life gets so busy gearing up for “moving day” I wanted to plan to take a quick break with my hubby and so I surprised him with a little mid-day date. This date really made a world of difference for us as we got ready to move everything. It was so nice to connect for a little bit and just have some good communication. I’m so glad I put together this mid-day date with my hubby, it was one-hundred percent worth it to take just a short amount of time and energy to focus on him to create this date.
There are a couple of things I did to get our table looking date ready that I would like to share with you today so you can create your own special mid-day date. I also surprised him with one of his favorites, Kaukauna® cheese. He didn’t even know that Kaukauna® is now available in convenient single servings too. Steps To Create Your Own Mid-Day Date
To start it all off I wanted to start setting the scene for our date. So I cleaned the area very well. Then it was time to make a seasonal center piece. Here is how I set the stage, and how you can too!
Start With A Centerpiece
I went with a “greenhouse” look for my centerpiece. I grabbed a cutting board to use as my base. Then I added a little glass terrarium with a pothos plant in it to add a bit of freshness to the space. I also added two other pothos, one in a terra cotta pot and one in a ball jar. The pothos in the ball jar I propagated from a larger one I had. I’m very happy to say it’s growing and doing very well. To add a little softness to the space I added this tea towel. Which is a practical and aesthetically pleasing piece.
Add A Special Element
I love ironstone! It has so much character, and I feel like every ironstone plate tells a story. This particular plate is one of my favorites. My hubby knows it’s one of my favorite pieces and I only use it for special occasions, like our mid-day date! Adding a special element to the area will create a special vibe and set the stage for a nice date.
Serve A Special Treat
The whole reason for this mid-day date is just to connect with my hubby and to allow us to spend some time together. To celebrate our upcoming move and our love for each other. To me, it isn’t a date without some food or one of your favorite treats. Enjoying time with my hubby, and talking about how we are going to make this move happen and celebrating what we want for our future was great. It was just what we needed.
