Hey guys, lets chat about master bedrooms. Why is it that I usually leave the master bedroom to be the very last room I decorate? I don’t know why it just became the “catch-all” for my random decor that didn’t fit anywhere. Yeah, not pretty! This year I was on a mission to make my room a priority. I mean why shouldn’t it be? We spend so much time in here as a family and as a couple. (Don’t get weird on me) But, I decided that it needed to transform into a super cozy space with lots of texture and with lots of layers.
I was inspired by the door in the middle of our headboard. This door is actually the front door from the first home my hubby and I bought together after we got married. So it has a lot of meaning for us, and it is such a beautiful door with all of the windows and the chippy white paint that we actually painted years ago. This became my inspiration and also my focal piece. This door brings out all of the farmhouse vibes, antique vibes, and bright neutral vibes. So that created the feel for what I wanted this room to transform into.
I then found these two little doors on each side of the door at a barn sale. I got them both for $5, it was a huge score! I painted them softly with white paint I was using from a shiplap project. You will find that I don’t spend a lot on my home decor. I just search until I find what I want for the price I want to pay for it. I also love to incorporate small shop items into my spaces. They always add such a warm to the space, just knowing that someone worked so hard to make the product for you adds such a warmth.
I kept looking around and adding items that fit with my theme, and I kept working on the room. I made this gallery wall that I shared about in this blog. How To Make A Gallery Wall. And in this blog I shared, How To Add Spring To Your Bedroom. In this blog I shared, How To Add Neutral Layers to your bedroom. So slowly but surely I have been adding to my room trying to create the look I was going for.
In all of these looks I always felt like the room was missing something and I could never quite put my finger on it until my new beautiful Orian rug arrived. Once I rolled out my new beauty it completed the room! It solidifies the look I was going for, it adds a huge cozy aspect to the room, and it just brings everything together. It’s perfection! Just looking at it makes me smile, it is so gorgeous! I wish you all could feel it because it is ultra soft. Like crazy soft! My feet are in heaven. All Amelia wants to do is bring all of her toys on the rug and play on it for hours. She loves it too!
This is the Orian Saffron Chesterfield Cream Area Rug With Braided Fringe. Mine is the 8×11 size, but it does come in other sizes too. I will link their website here. They have several options of rugs, and they are all equally as beautiful as the one we have in here.
I am so glad this room has finally come together. If you guys are interested in a blog post where I share all of the products I used in here with the corresponding links let me know and I can start creating that for you guys.
