I shared a little video on my Instagram stories last night of me pouring a delicious peanut butter frosting mixture on top of the peanut butter sheet cake. Several of you asked for the recipe, and I don’t blame you!
My Grandma is an exceptional baker and cooker. She has several go-to recipes that are all delicious. I am slowly but surely trying to make them and perfect them all for myself as a homemaker now. This is one of them I feel like I have a good handle on. My husband just loves this Peanut Butter Sheet Cake, it is one of his favorite desserts ever. Thankfully, it is fairly easy to make!
PEANUT BUTTER SHEET CAKE RECIPE
Ingredients For The Sheet Cake
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1 Tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/2 Cup Oil (canola or vegetable)
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tsp. Vanilla
- 1/2 Cup Buttermilk (regular milk works just fine)
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients together. flour, sugar, baking soda- set aside
- In a sauce pan add oil, butter, peanut butter, and water. Boil this for 1 minute.
- Add the hot mixture to the dry ingredients and mix.
- Stir in buttermilk, vanilla, and eggs.
- Pour into a greased sheet cake pan.
- Bake at 350* for 20 min.
Ingredients for Peanut Butter Frosting
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1/3 Cup Milk
- 1 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Stick Butter
- 1 Tsp. Vanilla
Frosting Directions
- In a sauce pan add the peanut butter, milk, and butter. Boil this for 1 minute.
- Add the powdered sugar, and vanilla and mix those in until smooth.
- Spread this on the warm cake (right when it is out of the oven) to make the glaze.
