Our guest room is my favorite room in our house, for one simple reason. It is always clean! Unless of course if someone is staying in it. Which I love that too because then it means someone is staying with us and that is always so much fun.
I feel like a guest room should ultimately be comfortable for whoever is visiting. Being a homemaker is truly an honor for me so when I get to host someone I take it seriously. Inviting someone into my home to stay is just a small way I can serve someone and hopefully make them feel loved.
I got inspired to switch up the decor here in our guest room from these diy topiary’s I made in my previous blog post that you can see here. Also, if you would like to see how our guest room was set up before this decor switch-up you can do so here.
Okay, this room is actually my favorite for two reasons. I was able to use some of my favorite small shops in here. I am just going to link them quickly here, but I will share more about some of them later in this post.

I have switched up our guest room hundreds of times. I know it won’t stop with this design either, but I am truly loving this style. This winter painting was a treasure we found here in our new house. The previous owners had left it in the closet. It fits perfectly here with its soft color scheme.
To play up the soft color scheme I kept the colors in the room to a neutral palette and added soft textures.
My style lately has been very farmhouse. I have completely embraced the farmhouse style. How adorable is this little white wicker stool I just found at our local antique shop. I also love the striped duvet in here, it is really really soft and it is a high quality duvet set. I have washed it several times and it just gets softer and softer. This one is from Linens and Hutch
I made this farmhouse suites sign awhile ago. I rotated it out of my decor for awhile but decided it was time to bring it back. I love how the darker stained wood matches the brown in the crock that I have my new topiary in. I just posted a full tutorial on how to make this topiary. Here is a link to that blog with the tutorial.
This rooms design is all about woods and whites. Woods for the color dimension and for their textures, and whites for their soft and clean look while also adding texture. I also loved using some of my favorite small shops to create this space.
I linked several of the actual products in this post to the small shops they came from. It just amazes me how talented people are and how creative they are!
If you click on these photos below you will see some links to similar objects to the ones I have used here in our guest room. This is from my LikeToKnowIt account. I recently started using this because it is such a great way to link products for you guys. I am still trying to figure it out completely, but it is such a fun way to shop!
