Home storage can be a struggle in a smaller home, and a coat hanger hook rack can be the perfect solution. Any type of rack is a great way to add functionality and beauty to any blank wall you may have. Or really on any open space where a peg rack would be appropriate. You can make your own coat hanger hook by using wood and pegs or really use any kind of coat hanger hooks.
What’s the purpose of coat hanger hooks?
Coat hanger hooks can be used to display all sorts of items. Some people use them to hold coffee mugs, or keys, or towels, or hats, the list goes on. I am using mine to hold my copper collection. I have been collecting copper for several years now and haven’t ever had a place to display them at.
Where can you get coat hanger hooks at?
You can find them all over Etsy or even Amazon. However, we actually DIY’ed ours. we went with pegs for our rack. We used them to make a simple peg rack. I just bought the pegs off of Amazon and then made some simple peg racks. You could make whatever kind of rack you want to.
Coffee bar and mud room
Our mud room has by-far been the hardest room to renovate in our 1860’s cottage. I will do a whole blog post sharing more about that process, but for now I would like to share how it’s looking!
We decided to put up a peg rack in our mud room area in a space right above our new coffee bar. I found an antique dresser at the thrift store last week and painted it to flip it, to actually sell it. I needed up loving it so much and it fit absolutely perfectly in the little book we have in our mud room. So now it is our coffee bar. I am storing my coffee mugs in the top drawer of the dresser so I don’t need to use the peg rack to display them. I am excited that I now have a place to display my copper collection.
Peg racks are such an adorable and actually affordable way to add some storage to your home, and they are a fun DIY if you are looking for one.
Here is a quick look at our mud room before. I am enjoying this layout so much more. I love that I have somewhere to display my copper collection now, and I love the added style it brings to our mud room/coffee room. If you make a peg rack please share it with me, I would love to see it! For another home decor idea check out this post, Neutral Home Decor.
