Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie boards are always so much fun! I love how they can turn the most simple meal or snack time into this fancy feeling meal or snack! In the case my husband and I were about to enjoy a simple little coffee date. We like to take random coffee breaks to chat about how our days are going. I decided to surprise him with a spruced up fall date. It was actually pretty simple once I knew what I wanted to use for my flat lay space.
Color Scheme
Start with getting your color scheme in mind. I knew I wanted my space to be neutrals with pops of a rusty orange. You can definitely do this to fit whatever color scheme you have set for fall. Maybe you want to add pops of blue pumpkins, or green pumpkins, etc.
Gather
Now that you know somewhat of the look you are looking for then it is time to gather your items. I almost always gather more items that I use. I just love seeing what I have available to work with. So, I gather everything I might want to use. For this specific fall charcuterie board I gathered flowers, seasonal candy, seasonal candles, seasonal leaves, a tea towel, a fall sign, two coffee cups, two straws, an acorn cutting board, some pumpkins, and some twinkly lights. I actually did end up using all of the materials I gathered for this one, but sometimes I don’t.
Charcuterie Layout
It is time to start preparing your fall charcuterie board! I start by laying our your base layer which in this case was the tea towels. Then I layered the cutting board and the sign since they are the focal points for this shot. Then I added the flowers to sort of frame the main items. Now, you will add what I call “filler items” which in this case is the pumpkin candles, the pumpkins, the seasonal candy, the seasonal leaves, a yummy muffin, our lattes, and then I finished off the look with sparkly lights to bring an extra warmth! For a charcuterie board you always want to think “more is more”, a fuller board or space is going to give your photo a really interesting look that will bring in peoples eyes and will draw attention to your display. My husband and I really enjoyed this fall charcuterie board, and I hope this blog inspires you to make one for yourself. You can use any items that you have on hand or buy simple and affordable “filler items” to enhance your board.
