Do you have a neutral room you would like to add some color to, to give it some new life? Yeah, I did too. Here are a few simple ways you can easily add some wanted pops of color into your neutral decor.
Rug Color and Pattern
Rugs are a fabulous way to add a pop of color to your neutral room. Here in our room I have a very neural color scheme, but I was so ready for a nice pop of color for the summer time so I just added this gorgeous rug from LNC Home, linked here. This is the Simple Medallion Area Rug and I can’t get enough of this gorgeous pattern and the pops of color it has brought to my room! This is the 8×10, but they have several other sizing options to choose from. This rug is a simple traditional vintage design, and I love how it plays off of the wallpaper in here. You can read all about the wallpaper in this blog post, linked here. Rugs are a beautiful way to add a nice pop of color and design to freshen up a space.
Antique Furniture
Have you ever noticed that a lot of antique furniture has a lot of color and design to it? I think with modern decor we have strayed away from using a lot of color or pattern on our furniture which I have to admit I love a good neutral couch, but for a little accent furniture piece it is so nice to have a pop of color on them. I found these three antique folding chairs on one of my recent thrifting trips. Not only does it happen to have the same blue color that the rug has, but it also has this gorgeous dark wood design that I love! Furniture can be a good accent piece to add to any space.
Artwork
A lot of times artwork can completely bring a space together. I didn’t want to completely blow my neutral palette out the window so this lovely piece of artwork is perfect for this space because it has a neutral base, while still bringing color to this area through the print.
Pillows
Pillows are the perfect way to add any pattern or design element to a room or a space. For one you can just simply buy a pillow cover to switch out, and they are usually pretty inexpensive. Plus, bonus tip* buy a few different pillow covers all in different colors and designs and try them out. The ones you don’t like you can return! Pillows are also a great way to complete your new color scheme with the added pop of color. Here in our room I added a few ticking striped pillows that have a little touch of blue in them to draw your eye up and help complete the integration of the blue from the rug and the chairs.
