When I first found this hutch and painted it I decided to leave these drawers as they were. For more on how I painted the hutch you can visit this post. The contrast between the green and the dark wood was striking. I am so glad I decided too because this was such a fun space to style. I have always been taken back when I would see people putting plants in open drawers, I just think it looks so cool! So, it dawned on me that I could totally do that with this hutch. I still want to add a few more plant babies here on the hutch but for now I am loving my new “Hutch Terrarium.”
Plus, I had to show you guys my new lettuce print that I found at the . . . you guessed it, the thrift store! There is a glare from our staircase on it in these photos, but you can still see how cute it is. I am loving floral prints so much right now for my spring decor, which you can read more about in this post, and this print is a fun spin off of those. Just less colorful. Plus, how beautiful is the green and brown frame on it!
I have been wanting to play around with the inside of my hutch that I painted this last fall. Until now it has been a handy little storage area for the home decor I wasn’t using. Now it is my plant terrarium. It is so handy having a bunch of my plants right here, it makes it so easy when it comes time to water them.
I love that this hutch and the plants bring a lot of life to this room with the fresh greenery. This is a really large room that has been quite the challenge for me to get right. I am finally feeling like it is coming together. A new rug is coming for this area that I know will just help solidify this whole room. I can’t wait to show it to you.
