This dining room has always been a challenge for me. Well, technically it is not a dining room, it is actually supposed to be our formal living room. Our original dining room just wasn’t big enough for our table. Going through the process of finding a new table just bummed me out because I love the table we have.
I am going to share more about this hutch and what I’ve done with it tomorrow here on the blog, and also in my Instagram stories! I share something fun everyday on my stories and on my feed, it’s a lot of fun sharing everything with you guys!
We almost never used our formal living room which happens to be right next to our dining room so I figured why not do a little switch-aroo! Now we have a little sitting area in our previous dining room. The former formal living space is now perfect for our table and our new dining room.
I just found these beautiful spring plates in a set of seven at the thrift store. The floral pop they add here just makes it feel like spring. The color scheme in the design on the plate completely matched perfectly with everything going on in this space.
Anywho, back to the switcha-roo. When we initially switched the two spaces I always felt like the new dining room was really missing something. I just couldn’t put my finger on it until we got our new rug from Home Dynamix. I have linked to the exact rug I have, the Palmyra 13728-400, here. It completely solidified the area, and made it feel more complete. I am completely in love with our new rug. All of the beautiful detailing, the way it matches the color scheme of my home, it’s just gorgeous!
Do you the gorgeous pattern this rug has on it. I just can’t get over it! Another thing you can see in the above photo is the new frame and print I found on my last thrifting adventure in my stories with you all! I seriously can’t believe I found this frame. It is wood, chippy, white, and it actually have a pretty print in it. Usually I find pieces like this at the antique shop, but like I always say, “You never know what you will find at the thrift store.” Oh, I forgot to mention the cute little rectangular mirror sitting on the top of the metal cabinet.
Rugs, chandeliers, pillows, blankets, and art work are “jewelry” for your spaces. They completely bring the space together and make the space work! This is a new thing I have been learning, and it has completely helped me feel like a space or spaces are done. You know that feeling of thinking, “what is this room missing?” Well, try adding a new pillow or rug, etc to try to make the space feel more complete. Let me know if you try it, and if this tip helps!
Here I have linked several products from LikeToKnowIT. I tried to link the exact or similar products from this space.
