I have been wanting to paint my piano for at least a year now. I was really hesitant to paint it at first because I wasn’t sure how I would like it, and I really didn’t want to mess my piano up. But, I am so glad that I decided to finally go for it and paint it because I love it so much now! Before it didn’t really fit into my decor style, but now it has become one of my favorite places to style. I painted it with Sherwin Williams in the color Clary Sage. I also painted my hutch in the same color.
To paint this piano I just did one thin coat. I started in the middle of the bigger sections and worked my way out. When I got to the outer parts I just lightened my pressure so that it would make a distressed look. It took me around thirty minutes to paint this piano. I seriously don’t know what I was so worried about before. I wish I would have painted it months ago.
I found these copper pots at the thrift store and thought they would be a great accent against the blue and white pumpkins I found at the pumpkin patch. I also decided to put the Whimsical Christmas Wreath I made here for a little bit.
This pumpkin patch pillow is one of my new favorites. My friend Janice KD Mae Designs made this, and it is the perfect fall pillow.
To see my painting technique go to my Instagram Stories where I shared it. Several of you have shared with me that you are interested in painting your pianos. I hope this helps you take a leap of faith and paint yours. If you do end up painting your piano I would love to see it. Feel free to share it with me on Instagram.
