I am thrilled to be joining a talented group of bloggers this week to bring you all a bunch of inspiration for your Thanksgiving Tablescape. Everyday this week, Kristi from French Creek Farmhouse will feature five talented bloggers on her blog and her Instagram who have created some seriously swoonworthy tablescapes. Today is my day, so welcome!!
You guys, during the holidays I tend to loose my mind. Not in the crazy way, but in the way where I want to buy all the things and have the “perfect” this and “perfect” that, what ever perfect means, right. Well, this year I am trying to center myself and not loose it. So this year for my Thanksgiving tablescape I decided to shop my home and use greenery that I had out in my garden. I am so glad I did too because it has was way less stressful, and it honestly ended up being really fun!
As I was making my tablescape I realized that my table is really only so big for, all the things, and really I only needed these four particular steps to make my tablescape what I want it to be. Which is welcoming, festive, and functional. I hope these steps can help you with your tablescape.
Step One
Have a table, I joke! No seriously, grab a plaid scarf or smaller throw blanket and just put it right down the middle of your table. This can act as your table runner. You can either fold it and make it into a straight line, or you can do what I did and just sort of lay it out randomly. This is the base of your tablescape. Also, this is a great place to add color if you want to.
Step Two
Grab an old book. I grabbed a book that I bought at a garage sale for like five cents. Rip some of the pages out and lay them out randomly on the table runner. This is just to add some interest to your tablescape.
Step Three
Add your pumpkins or whatever you have decided to use as your focal point to your tables centerpiece. I decided to use the pumpkins that I found at the pumpkin patch last week. They are a subtle blue-green and help tie in the blue from the table runner. The subtle colors to me feel really warm and welcoming. The pumpkins are so festive.
Step Four
Add in what I call the “filler pieces” like greenery, candles, and any other festive touches you want to add. Greenery always adds a freshness to the look. I had some dried eucalyptus I decided to use so I just layered it around the pumpkins. I also had some rosemary that I snipped off of my rosemary bush in my garden. Rosemary looks so pretty and it smells so good. I also used rosemary in my Fall Tablescape blog post.
Speaking of smelling good, these Sea Salt Vanilla Volights from Gold Canyon smell so good and they added a warmth to the tablescape.
Adding this adorable and festive “hello pumpkin” hanging sign from My Craft Shed helped bring the centerpiece to life. To dress up the plates a little bit I added a vintage glass bottle to each place and put in a couple sprigs of rosemary. I really wanted the greenery to shine here. This is the step where I really shopped my home and found items I thought would work together.
Thanksgiving is just right around the corner. Save this image to come back to this post to help you when you are ready to create your beautiful tablescape.
I hope that these four easy steps will help you create a welcoming, festive, and functional Thanksgiving tablescape that you can be proud of! I would love to see the beautiful tablescapes you create. Please share them with me on Instagram. You can find me at @homechronicles and tag me in your posts so I can be sure to see them.

From the first time you showed me your table, I was all heart-eyes and swooning. I pretty much fell in love with that bench, and reading how you designed your centerpiece just makes me love this space even more! I have never used a scarf as a runner, but that’s brilliant! Love, love, love everything here!
