Funny story, I actually bought this hutch twice? I bought it the first time because I couldn’t find a truck to pick it up with. I was so bummed the next day I couldn’t believe what I had done so I quickly jumped in the car and went and snagged this hutch, again! Thankfully, a sweet friend of ours from church let us use his truck. This hutch was a really fun painting project, I love having it in our home now! Plus, you can’t beat the price of $34.99 either!
I have been wanting a green statement piece of furniture for awhile now. When I saw this hutch I knew it was going green. So my hubby and I ran to Lowe’s to pick up some Sherwin Williams paint. I ended up choosing the color Clary Sage, it is just green enough to make a statement but will still blend into my decor. I just put one light coat of it on the hutch and went for a distressed look. If you are interested in the full tutorial on how I painted it please go to my highlighted Instagram stories here. The highlighted story is titled “Hutch DIY”.
How adorable is this Michigan Fruit Canners INC. crate I just picked up at a local antique store. I love it, and the jars my mother-in-law just found me fit in the crate perfectly. I am trying to branch out with my artwork. Aka I am trying to use some at all. I don’t know why it is so hard for me to commit to a piece. When I saw this beauty I knew I could work with it.
Yep, I officially have the mum’s bug. Never heard of it? It basically means “give me allll the mum’s”! I just don’t think fall decor gets any cuter than mum’s in baskets. Then again, I always love a good basket! Do you see that adorable candle sitting on the stool, I wish you could all smell this “Fall Festival” candle from my friend Shannon at Greyden Candle Co. It truly smells amazing, and it brings all the cozy fall feels inside!
Moral of the story is, if you find a piece that makes your heart go pitter pat then find a way to bring it home. I am so glad that I did, I feel like I will have this hutch for many years.
Thank you all so much for being so kind, and letting me share this story and the first thrift flip with you all. I really appreciate you all, and am thankful that you all came to the blog to see what we are up to over here on our Home Chronicles.

Your home is beautiful. You style things so nicely. I adore that little blue pumpkin nestled into that lil pot. Your home is also so welcoming. The hutch is awesome and leaving the inside in its stained color adds a lovely touch and great depth to it.
