One of my favorite things about our new home is this sunroom. The whole room is just windows which makes it feel like you are outside, but really you are in the comfort of the ac and no bugs! This is probably my favorite spot to blog at too. In the spring we had some baby birds outside of our window and it was so magical to open up the window and just listen to their tiny chirps. This summer has been full of squirrel sightings since we have a tree that produces acorns in the back yard. Of course, our pups go crazy when they see them, which is hilarious when our little chihuahua tries to chase after them, but they are bigger than she is. Cracks me up. I have been so thankful for this sunroom for many reasons, but I love that now it is really functional since we moved this table in here. We like to host people a lot and so it is really nice to have this space as an extra table for seating. Or even a fun table to play cards at with friends and family. Lately, I have really enjoyed serving a light brunch out here with my hubby. Our daughter is almost done with her fourth week of school, it has flown by! I can’t even believe that it has been a month already. But since she has been at school now my hubby, Shane, and I have been having a lot of day dates, and brunch out here with coffee is one of our reoccurring dates. Today we just had muffins and coffee. The sun light was perfect our here today so I decided to create a full on tablescape with some of my new thrift finds, antique shop finds, and my new Lovedaisysunday wooden spoons, that are really pieces of artwork that say, “mix”, and “stir”. I love that they are both beautiful and functional. My friend Daisy makes them, and she is so talented, I love having a couple pieces of her artwork in my home.
I get a lot of questions on where I got this “our nest” sign from, and unfortunately I do not have a link for you guys on where you can get it because it was a diy project I did a couple years ago. My mother-in-law actually found this sign for me, but I didn’t love what it said, but I did love the shape and detailing on it so I just took my white chalk paint out and gave it a few coats. I bought the most basic stencils from Walmart, they are super inexpensive and I have reused them many times for other projects.
I recently got to go to one of my favorite antique malls, and I found some goodies. This chippylicious antique wood box was one of the things I snagged. I thought it would be the perfect size to put a plant in, and thankfully this lavender does fit perfectly. The photo sitting to the right of the bench, that is hiding in this picture but you can see it in some of the other photos, is one of my latest thrift store finds. I used to never even look through the frame section of thrift stores or Goodwills but lately I have been checking them out and have been on a roll of finding cute frames and prints. I found a big one that I just hung next to our fireplace, and I will be showing you guys that living space in an upcoming blog. I completely moved things around and I finally feel like this room is finished. At least for now it is.
The puppies love it our here too. I hope your day is an relaxed as Autumn is here! You don’t know how much it means to me that you come and check out the blog to see what we are up to lately.
